The author presents evidence that the wife of James Redway, Joanna Heldrick (a better reading of her name in the marriage record than Holdrick), was actually Joanna Hildreth, daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Wilson) Hildreth.

There is no evidence that suggests Joanna Hildreth either died young or married someone else, and a lot of evidence for connections between her family of origin and the Redway family. The age at death of Joanna, wife of James Redway, implies a birth in 1695, which matches the birth year of Joanna Hildreth.
