- Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868, Vol. 2 (genealogies), p. 572, has coverage of this family, which is strange since they are not from Lexington. Hudson provides birthdates for the children, including daughter Elizabeth who is absent from the records, but mentioned in her father's will. Where these dates come from is unknown, possibly there is a family Bible out there. With one exception (Luke), all of Hudson's dates seem plausible and have been used. Because several of the children married spouses from other towns, there seems to be some variation in spelling between the records, Hudson, and the father's will, enough to possibly confuse the identity of the spouse (i.e., Jedediah Stearns or Stevens, Thomas Horsey or Hersey) that will be sorted out over time.
