Mary (Adams) … m. Nov. 23, 1724 [-sic-see following comment], James Merrill, son of Abel.
[Note: If this is the correct Mary, a marriage in 1714 seems unlikely, however that is what both the intention and marriage say, and further they are recorded in a timely context that suggests it is not an erroneous date: see here. On p. 46 is the marriage record:
"1714: Marriages returned by ye reverend mr Christopher Toppan
...
James Merrill & Mary Adams wer married: November: ye 23'd: 1714:"
On p. 47, the intention:
"James Merrill informed of his intent of marriage with Mar Adams & I set up their publishment ye 18th of Sep't - 1714 -"
It would appear from Newbury VRs that they had a son Israel b. 1715, Humphrey b. 1717, both of whom have vague births in Adams, p. 21, though Israel is "about 1725-6" and ahead of Humphrey, and are both shown marrying before age 21 because Adams assumed their births matched his erroneous marriage date also.]
