Lake City - James Maitland, 79, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Des Moines. Memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, at Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Betty Weidert officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
James Abner Maitland was born January 17, 1929 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Thomas L. and Clara (Mohring) Maitland. He served 2 years in the United States Military. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree at Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. He was married to Wanda Mae Lee in Hennepin County, MN, and he worked as a chief chemist at Warren Cook Chemical Inc.
...He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Clara Maitland, and wife, Wanda Mae Maitland.
