James Faunce m. 1742 Sarah "Vaughn (or Ford)".
[Note: MF5G, Vol. 1, suggests Vaughn or Faunce, and in his later book, Source:Faunce, James Freer. Faunce Family History and Genealogy, p. 37, the author of this article identifies the wife as "Sarah Faun (Vaughn?)". The cited article also incorrectly assigns the 2nd marriage to Joanna Fuller to a different James Faunce, also fixed in the later book.]

    [Note: no such record found.]

  3. There is a birth record in Plympton VRs, p. 101: FAUNCE, James (Fance), ch. James and Sarah, Apr. 8, 1760. It is not known what this record represents as the older son James was still alive. It is possible it is misrecorded, perhaps related to the death of Ruth the next day, 9 Apr 1760, or an infant who had not yet been named. In any event, it does not seem to be the birth of a son James.
