  2.   The family record of this couple published in the Pilgrim Notes and Queries, vol. 1, p. 35, does not specify a birth location for the children. Only the first two, Phebe and Celinda are recorded in Rochester, so it is assumed they left Rochester at that point. The next location listed is Seneca, NY, when the mother dies in 1808. The child after Celinda, Caleb, listed his birthplace as New York in the 1850 census and so it is assumed that he and all subsequent children were born in NY. However, Source:Cleveland, Stafford Canning. History and Directory of Yates County, says they first moved to Saratoga County, NY, then in 1803 the father James located on a farm near Geneva, Ontario County, NY, the family joining him in 1804. The family record says the mother died in 1808 in Seneca, Ontario County, NY.
