"James² Brainerd … m. (2), May 23, 1711, Sarah Daniels. … [footnote] There is a Sarah Daniels, b. Feb. 10, 1679, dau. of John and Mary (Chappel) Daniels. She is the only Sarah Daniels that in any way will answer for the Sarah Daniels wanted that I have found, but I have no proof that she is their daughter."

The identity of the second wife of Deacon James Brainerd is not proven but is highly probable.
