Mrs. Ida Josephine Nix Bennett, 81, of Rt. 1, WeatUnion, the Fairview community, died at her home Wednesday after an lilness (sp) of five months. Native of Oconee County, she lived inthecommunity 12 years and was the daughter of the late William and Telesa Guinn NIX. She was the last surviving member of her immediaate family and a former textile worker. Her husband, James Bennett, died in 1955. She was a member of Salem First Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Ralph Bennett of the home, John Bennett of Walhalla and Ecrum Bennett of Anderson; three daughters, Mrs. Mattie Grant of the home, Mrs. Essie Corn, and Mrs. Bessie Lee of Seneca: 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchilden. Funeral services were conducted Thursday at Fairview Methodist Church by Rev. Donald Hope, Rev. Carl Edgar and Rev. W/ Lee Parince. Burial was ni (sp) Oconee Memorial Park. Paulbearers were Paul and J.B. McMahan, B.Q. Barnes, Harold Kelley, S.C. Biggerstaff and Luther Singleton.
