    Jabez was b. April 13, 1700 or 1701; m. 1st Mary Hunt, Feb. 23, 1726, daughter of Enoch and Mary (Paine) Hunt. She was b. Sept. 7, 1703, d. June 10, 1727, aged 24 years.'

    Carpenter seems confused about the identity of the Mary Hunt who married Jabez Carpenter. Mary the daughter of Enoch and Mary [Paine] Hunt was born 7 Sep 1679 (RVR), while Mary the daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth [Bowen] Hunt was born 5 Sep 1707 (RVR). According to Jim Bullock, who has done extensive research in Rehoboth records, Mary the daughter of Enoch and Elizabeth (Bowen) Hunt married Thomas Remington and had a son named Enoch, and it was Mary the daughter of John and Mary (Hyde) Hunt (b. 2 Mar 1704/5) who married Jabez Carpenter.
