DODGE Isaac, of Wenham, and Mahittabel Tiller, int. Aug. 18, 1728. Isaac, of Wenham, and Mehitable Tyler, at Wenham, Apr. 1, 1758. [Note: see note below.]
↑ The intention reflects the Boxford record (here). The marriage record was sent to Boxford from Wenham in 1857, but not recorded in Wenham (here and here). It is clearly incompatible with the intentions, but the similarity of years (1728 and 1758) suggests the date was mistranscribed when sent to Boxford. But even if this is assumed, 1 Apr 1728 is incompatible with intentions on 18 Aug 1728. Source:Dodge, Joseph Thompson. Genealogy of the Dodge Family of Essex County, Mass., 1629-1894, p. 73, gives a marriage date of 1 Apr 1730. No record for this date is found, nor does it seem likely to be true: it is over a year after intentions, and this source shows 2 children born before 1732, which, when you add overlooked daughter Anna baptized in Wenham, is 3 children born before 1732. The marriage date is presumed 1 Jan 1728/29, which would be written 1 Jan 1728 but is consistent with the intentions.
