↑ Pollitt gives a date of 10 Jan 1840 for the marriage license of Horatio WEBSTER and Hester Anne SHORES. This is clearly very doubtful, as Horatio would only have been 13, and Hester 12, as of that date. Therefore, I have corrected the year of the license. Both Hester and Horatio "Orasha" are in residence in the Lambert SHORES household in the 1850 U.S. Census, but Hester is still listed with her maiden name. Perhaps the marriage had not yet been made known to the family.
