This is made questionable by a transcription of marriages and deaths taken from the Orange County Patriot of Goshen, NY from between May 1828 to December 1831 made by Gertrude A. Barber in 1935 which says:
"22 Jan 1831
At Seneca Falls, 31st ult., Mr. Horatio W. FINCH of this place to Miss Sarah Adela BURGER of Newburgh"
Note that the year of this event (1831) predates the birth year of this Horatio (1845 - as calculated from the 1880 Census). However, there is no guarantee that this Horatio and Sarah are the same as discussed by Thummel, and no guarantee that the transcription is correct.
