1910 Census

Henry J Sevin and wife Ricka Sevin, both age 54, live at 341 West 7th St. in Mill Creek Township, Ward 4, Erie City, Pennsylvania. He is the proprietor of an art store. They own their home free and clear. Henry and Ricka were married at age 28, and have five children, all living. They were both born in Pennsylvania. Their parents were born in Germany. However, Ricka's parents are noted as being from Alsace; this was changed to Germany by a later hand. Children in their household are Harry L, 26, a clerk at a paper mill; Gertrude K, 22, attending school; Madaline, 20, a clerk at the art store; and Frederick and Robert, both age 14, attending school. Henrietta Mehl, Ricka's sister, age 58, single, is also a member of the household. She is noted as having her own income.

1920 Census

Henry Sevin, 64, lives at 341 West 7th St in the 4th Ward of Erie, Pennsylvania. He is the proprietor of an art store. His wife, Rica Sevin, is 64. They own their home, which is mortgaged. Both were born in Pennsylvania. Henry's parents were born in Germany. Rica's parents were born in Alsace-Lorraine (a second hand wrote in Lorraine; the original entry was just Alsace). Harrette (Henrietta) Mehl, noted as sister, age 59 and single, is also in the household. As her parents were also born in Alscace, and Rica's maiden name is Mehl, Henrietta is actually Henry's sister in law.
