  2. Oct 9, 1901, in Lewiston Evening Journal. (Lewiston, Maine).

Tuesday evening at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. J. W. Fairbanks, in Bangor, occurred the marriage of Harry Lord and Miss Gertrude H. Fairbanks. The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. Elmer F. Pember, pastor of the Universalist church, in the presence of relatives of the bride and groom. The wedding march was played by Miss Laura Barto as the bridal couple entered the room. The bride was becomingly attired in white, wore a veil and carried a beautiful boquet of bridal roses. The house was handsomely decorated for the occasion and after the ceremony refreshments were served. Mr. Lord and his bride left for a trip to Buffalo and other cities in the west. On their return they will reside at 82 Cumberland street.

Mr. Lord is a well known and popular young Bangor man, who has for some years been connected with the business of his father, Hon. Henry Lord, and for the past few years has been studying law in the University of Maine law school. Mrs. Lord has been an efficient member of the corps of teachers in the Bangor public schools, recently resigning the position of principal of the Elm street kindergarten.
