"Wardwell - Kendricken Quiet Ceremony at St. John's Parochial Residence, Roxbury Harold Porter Wardwell, well known in Boston as a clubman and in athletic circles, and Miss Pauline Kendricken, daughter of Hon. Paul H. Kendricken of Roxbury, were quietly married yesterday morning at the parochial residence of St. John's Roman Catholic church, Lawrence Av., Roxbury, by Rev. Garrett J. Barry. The ceremony was private except to a few friends, the reason being that the bride's family are still in mourning of the death of Paul Joseph Kendricken, brother of the bride, who died last February. The maid of honor was Miss Lilian Crawford Brown of Dorchester, while T. Fred Stoddard of this city acted as best man. There were no ushers. The bride was given away by her father. After the ceremony there was a wedding breakfast served at the Kendricken home, corner Maple and Schuyler Streets, Elm Hill. Roxbury. Mr. and Mrs. Wardwell will reside in this city." -The Boston Globe 12 June 1902
