Wikipedia (as of May 2011, using a source that does not cite its own sources) indicates that Gerard married two daughters of Louis I. According to Cawley (Medieval Lands), 2 early (9th/10th century) sources indicate that Gerard married a granddaughter of Louis I, but some authors have suggested that his wife was a daughter of Louis I due to the discrepancy in ages. While Gerard may have had 2 wives (the second being either a granddaughter or daughter of Louis I), there is no reason to believe that he married 2 daughters of Louis I.
