Gerald and Maude did not have any children. She was in her 30's or early 40's when she married. Family lore was that she did not have any children by choice because her mother was not a nice mother and she had been treated harshly. Gerald and Maude lived simply on a farm in Charlotte township, near her sisters. They went to the annual HOWARD reunion held in Sinclairville. My memory of Gerald and Maude is them sitting quietly next to each other watching the younger generations play and run around. Maude always held her purse snug against her stomach. My father always said she probably only had a hankie in it but she guarded it. Maude never learned to drive.
