ANN JEMIMA SEARS was born circa 1830 at Hardy County, Virginia. She appeared on the census of 1850 at Hardy County, Virginia.

She married GEORGE KEPLINGER JR., son of GEORGE KEPLINGER SR. and CATHERINE FEASTER, circa 1851. Estimation of 1851 is made because wife Ann is still in her fathers household in 1850. Daughter Dormacelia was born around 1851. She and GEORGE KEPLINGER JR. appeared on the census of 1860.

She died in Oct 1865 at Hardy County, Virginia. Ann's death was reported by her brother-in- law Isaac Keller as Flu. Daughters Ruth and baby Elizabeth also died that year. Perhaps all from flu. It is unclear what happened to the rest of the family. George and the children did not show up in the 1870 census. However, oldest child, daughter Dormacelia is in the 1870 cenus, married to John Keplinger and Lovina is known to have later married in Grant County.

  4. She is in the household of Joseph Sears. He is likely her cousin. It is unclear where George, Dormacelia, and Lovina are. She is probably pregnant with Israel, born later that year. Perhaps she was visiting and the census taker missed the rest of them.
