The marriage record states that George Hyde of Saint Andrews, County of Argenteuil, Farmer, Bachelor and Matilda Fournier of the same place, spinster, were married by license on the 7th day June in the year of our lord 1871, by me David Patterson in the prescence of these Witnesses: Stephen Burwash, Margaret Young, D.P. Farquahr. Signed George Hyde, Matilde Fournier. Margaret is probably George's older sister. George's aunt Rebecca was a Burwash, so Stephen may be a cousin. By 1881 George and Matilda had five children, three boys and two girls.
