On 5 March 1803, George Brownfield entered into a bond with James Brownfield as his security for "a marriage to be solemnized between the above bound George Brownfield and Miss Nelly Ashcraft, daughter of Ann Ashcraft." The consent was included: "Sir This is to Sertify that I have given my Daughter Nelly Ashcraft in Marige to Gorge Brownfield. Given under my hand this Forth Day of March 1803.
