Family rumor has it that she was a prostitute when he married her. Theirs was not a happy marriage. They separated several times and, in fact, were living apart when he died. He was living with his daughter, Kate, in Cleves, Ohio, and she was living in Aurora, Indiana. She remarried George Lowe of Vevay, Indiana, after George's death.
