  2.   The Leominster VRs list the birth of two sons named James to this family, one on 3 Apr 1742, claiming the Gravestone as its source, and one on 27 Sep 1758 based on the original town records. The death record shows James dying 3 Apr 1842 aged "100 to a day" with a question mark, apparently inserted by the compiler of the published records. There is no death record for a young James before 1758. A birth in 1742 is a little close to the birth of sister Lydia in 1743. In 1742, the parents still belonged to the Lancaster church, and even Lydia in 1743, was baptized in Lancaster, but there is no record of a baptism of James in 1742. Therefore, it is suspected (strongly) that the 1742 birth date is a myth resulting from the purported 100 year age at death, and has no validity. There probably was only one son James, born 1758 and died 1842, aged a meager 84.
