Francis Webb of this parish and Elizabeth Clinch of the Parish of Hartlip were married in this Church by Licence this twenty second Day of January in the year one thousand seven hundred and eighty eight

This Marriage was solemnized between us Francis Webb - Elizabeth Clinch
In the Presence of Thos Baldock - Jane Baldock - ↑ Text: 15th Day of January 1787
Appeared personally Francis Webb, miller and alleged and made oath that he is of the parish of Chatham in the County of Kent and Diocese of Rochester and a Batchelor of the age of Eighteen years and upwards, and intends to marry with Elizabeth Clinch of the Parish of Hartlip in the County of Kent and a spinster of the age of eighteen years and upwards viz't the said Francis Webb by and with the consent of William Webb his natural and lawful Father and the said Elizabeth Clinch by and with the consent of Ann Clinch her natural and lawful Mother and that he the said Francis Webb knoweth of no Let or Impediment by Reason of any Pre-contract entered into before the 25th Day of March 1754, Consanguinity, Affinity or any other legal Cause whatsoever, to hinder the said intended Marriage in that he prays licence to solemnize the said Marriage in the Parish Church of Chatham aforesaid in which said Parish the said Francis Webb hath had his usual Abode for the space of Four Weeks last past.

Appeared also personally William Webb of the Parish of Bearsted in the County of Kent Gentleman and being sworn on the Holy Evangelists made Oath that he is the natural and lawful Father of the said Francis Webb and that he is consenting to the above mentioned Marriage of the said Francis Webb with the said Elizabeth Clinch.
The same day the said William Webb was sworn before me - Hen. Jones, Surrogate. Will'm Webb
Appeared also personally Ann Clinch of the Parish of Hartlip in the County of Kent Widow and being sworn on the Holy Evangelists made Oath that she is the natural and lawful Mother of the before named Elizabeth Clinch and unmarried and that she is consenting to the Marriage of her said daughter Elizabeth Clinch with the said Francis Webb and that she knows of no Guardian appointed by the Will or Deed of William Clinch the natural and lawful Father of the said Elizabeth Clinch.
The same day the said Ann Clinch was sworn before me - Hen. Jones, Surrogate. Ann Clinch
