↑NEHGR, Vol. 54, p. 404, gives this date as "May 2, 1797", but clearly it was 1697, and in 1697, the 5th month was July, not May as it would have been in 1797. Source:Phillips, Vernon S. Francis Nash of Braintree, Mass. and 480 of His Descendants, p. 6, gives this date as Apr. 5, 1697, but this has the month and day backwards. By comparison with the other records, the day of the month is the first number, 2, while the month is 5, so 2 July.
