Will Record A, 234-5, [abstract] Petition of Rebecca Magee, widow of the late Fleet Magee, Senior, Leonard Magee, Fleet Magee, Junior, Elias C. Stewart, and Martha Elizabeth Stewart, his wife, George W. Simmons and Mary Caroline, his wife (all of full age). The report that Fleet Magee, Senior, died August 26, 1847, leaving no will and quite a large plantation in Marion and Scott Counties valued at near $25,000. They ask that letters of administration be granted to Leonard and Rebecca Magee. The request of Magee before death was that his estate in Marion County be kept together for the benefit of the minor children. Witness: Hollis W. Fortenberry.
