This name apparently originated with Frans Kraaijenhagen of Holland. The original documents have been lost due to a computer "crash".

Frans visited the Stockhover Reunion in 1995 (probably held in Indiana that year). He had some handwritten documents (in his handwriting) of his relationship to the Kreyenhagen Family of Engter, Kalkriese, and Venne, in the Lower Saxony state in Germany. He had visited those towns prior to 1995, and gained some data to share with attendees of that Reunion, including some photographs of the Kreyenhagen Estate, which was the scene of a long forgotten Roman battlefield (9 AD), which had just been re-discovered.

In Engter, Frans obtained copies of some church documents, of which this compiler has copies. He also hired some locals to do research, but one of them (Udo Thoerner) in 2008 told me face to face, that he did very little research for Frans; and it was the other guy (unknown) who did most of the work.
