- ↑ Source:Clark, William H. Story of Massachusetts, Vol. 2, p. 68, suggests Ephraim Hewett's wife is Ketura Ackors whom he married 16 Oct 1698. This date matches very well with the recorded birth of their first child, but such a marriage record has not been found. This is probably based an intention in Newbury p. 249 and copy p. 192 on 8 Oct 1698 (not 16 Oct 1698). Although transcribed in the published VRs as "Ephraim Hunt" both these handwritten records clearly say "Ephraim Huit" ("of Bridgewater"). They also named the wife as Katherine, not Ketura. Henry Akers of Newbury had a daughter Katherine but she was not explicitly named in his will ("rest of my children", Essex Probate 352). All the Easton records names Ephraim's wife as Ketura. So it is far from clear that the cited marriage is the same couple.
