[Note: Cutter and Cutler are hard to distinguish in handwritten form. After careful inspection of Ruth's father will, it appears to say Cutter. Presumably he is the "Ephraim Cutter" of Brookfield whose will was dated 14 Mar 1795 and proved 6 Apr 1796, naming eldest son Abraham; sons Elijah, Solomon and Ephraim Jr all as Cutter (also, daughters Anna Thrasher, Ruth Holms, and Martha Thrasher; Worcester Probate 14875). Also, Source:Temple, Josiah Howard. History of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, p. 562, refers to him as Ephraim Cutter, not Cutler.]
