[Note: Shattuck gives no marriage date, but shows son Henry, b. 9 Mar 1789. Henry is recorded as the "s. Susannah". So, whether or not Henry is Emerson's son, he was born prior to the marriage. Shattuck apparently tried not to call attention to this situation by not reporting the marriage date. Which makes Shattuck's presentation confusing, given the easy access to the recorded marriage date, hence this elaboration.]
