↑ The marriage record is indexed as "Chander W. Dodge", but doesn't read like that. The first letter looks like an 'E' not a 'C', and the 'h' looks like an 'le'. The parents indicated in the marriage record, David Dodge and Ruth Freeman, in the 1850 census (lines 6-14) have twin sons names Alexander W Dodge and Elvander W Dodge. If the third letter in the husband's name is 'v' instead of 'e', then Elvander is what is written in the marriage record.

Clearly the marriage was short since Emma is living under the name Richardson in Massachusetts by 1900. Emma's Find A Grave page speculates she divorced, but her marital status says "Wd". No death record of Elvander has been located, nor any entry for him in the 1900 census.
