  2.   Source:Tryon, Wesley Merritt. Tryon Family in America, p. 147, tries to suggest that Elisha Tryon Jr. m. Phebe Roberts, but this is clearly wrong. Besides the fact that Phebe's age at death 71, in 1839, means she was born about 1768 whereas Elisha Jr. was born in 1789, Elisha was only 16 in 1805 when the marriage occurred, and thus too young to be the person involved.
