    "Elijah2 Brainerd … m. (2), Sept. 6, 1738, Margaret _____." [Footnote:Same Page] "Rev. D. D. Field in the Brainerd Genealogy, published in 1857, said that Elijah Brainerd had two children by his second marriage. I have found no mention made of them in his will, nor anywhere else. Thomas Canfield m., Nov. 26, 1740, Margaret Brainerd. Mr. Thomas Canfield d. Dec. 4, 1760. Margaret (Brainerd) Canfield d. Mch. 15, 1757. I do not know whether she was the widow of Elijah Brainerd or not. He m. (1) Jan. 3, 1705-6, Mary Camp. His residence was Durham, Conn. I do not know who Margaret Brainerd was, if not the widow of Elijah Brainerd."
