↑ Source:Rugg, Ellen R. Descendants of John Rugg, p. 110, mistakenly adds a daughter, "Helen Ann Byron Sawyer", to this family due to careless reading of the published Lancaster VRs. Immediatley following the Sawyer family is a record about a certain Helen Ann Byron, i.e,, neither Sawyer or Bailey, and additionally she was born before they were married, and the purpose of the record is to say that this Helen was adopted by Mrs Atherton, with no indication in the record of any connection to this Sawyer family.
