  4. ↑ There may be a question of the marriage location: why Point Pleasant and/or Mason County, Virginia? So far no evidence of Edward being from that area. The Madisons were from Augusta and Botetourt counties of Virginia and about 1790 much of the family appears to move to Kentucky. There are records in Mercer County, Kentucky which list Elizabeth/Eliza/Betsy Madison being there as well as 2 records related to her marriage. The more likely location for the marriage is Mercer County, Kentucky rather than Virginia. 5/2015
