"Edward² Lillie (Edward¹) married in Boston, July 16, 1702, a Mary Emms. On page 67 of the Lillie genealogy the compiler specifically states that the wife of Edward² Lillie was a daughter of Henry Emms, Messenger of the General Court; this, however, appears to be in error, for Edward's wife was Mary Howlett, the widow of Benjamin Emms."
