Rootes of Gloucester County from "an ancient paper," which have been invariably found to be accurate, where susceptible of verification from independent sources, that "Col. William Bernard, son of the Knight of Huntington," had [in addition to Elizabeth Todd] another daughter Lucy by his wife, the daughter of Col. Hickerson [Higginsonl and widow of Lewis Burwell Esq., and that this daughter Lucy married Edward Gwin [Edmund Gwynne].
