"Smith, Ebenezer, Lieut., m. Sarah Collins, Jan. 3, 1710, by Samuel Eells, Asst. [1:32]"
"Smith, Ebenezer, Lieut., m. Sarah Collins, Jan. 3, 1710/11, by Sam[ue]ll Eells, Asst. [OL:70]"
The identification of this Sarah Collins as the wife of Ebenezer Smith is not proven. Although her mother was living in Enfield at the time of this marriage, she, Sarah Tibbals, was a Milford girl and had numerous relatives in the Milford/Derby area. This, and the apparent lack of another suitable Sarah Collins in that time and place, render it probable that this identification is correct. Note that Sarah Collins, daughter of William, born 1679 in New Haven, married Henry Luddington.
