Note that several of the children born in the 1770's claimed in later life to have been born in South Carolina, yet Ebenezer was on the rental rolls in Prince William County, Virginia during that time period. It is possible that the children did not remember where they were born and only remembered their childhood home in South Carolina, or it is possible that the family had moved but retained land in Virginia that was rented to others. It is also possible that they moved back a forth a bit, as suggested by the fact that John Foley Morse (a later child) indicated that he was born in Virginia.
