[edit] MarriageDow in History of Hampton, gives Sobriety Moulton marriage to Ebenezer Brown, son of Thomas & Abial (Shaw) Brown of Hampton, NH. Perley gives the marriage of Sobriety Moulton at Hampton. In the Haverhill VR (1:24, 2:45) is recorded the marriage of Ebenezer Brown to Sobriety Moulton, as well as, "Brown, Daniel, s. Ebenezer and Soberiatie (Molton), Nov. 22, 1734," in addition to three other children. Given the difficulties in identifying individuals with the surname Brown, it is easy to understand the difference of opinion. The inclusion in the VR of Haverhill indicates at least one of the participants had connections to Haverhill, and with recorded births of children, lived in Haverhill for at least a time. Dow indicates that Ebenezer Brown (son of Thomas) lived in Kensington, NH and provides two marriages and fourteen children, none of children correspond to the four recorded in the Haverhill VR. Perley's guidance supported by the Vital Records of Haverhill is being followed until documentation proves more conclusively otherwise. References
