Beulah J. Sowry, age 91, of Homewood Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the Carington Park Nursing Home in Ashtabula. She was born Feb. 28, 1920, in Cambridge Springs, Pa., the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Ebert) Warren and moved to Ashtabula when she was two years old. A 1938 graduate of Edgewood High School, she married Donald H. Sowry on Nov. 27, 1946. Beulah had worked as a telephone operator, waitress and was a homemaker. She was an auxiliary member of the CBI organization. She liked crocheting, cardinals and cruising where she had traveled to in Europe, the Mediterranean and Canada. She is survived by her daughters, Diana (Larry) Harding of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Patricia Sowry of Roaming Shores, Ohio; three grandchildren, Michelle (Peter) Massey of Nebraska, Michael (Alicia) Harding of Texas and James Harding of Georgia; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jonathan Massey, Lauryn and Branden Harding, Ashley, Alex and Aaron Harding; and her sister, Dorrrine Whysong of Ashtabula. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1992; and two brothers, Clettus Warren and Clayton (Curley) Warren. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 8th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Laurie Divoky, of the Hospice of the Western Reserve, officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Calling Hour will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Rochelle, Shari, Carol, Melissa and Laurie of Hospice of the Western Reserve for all their loving help and support with taking care of their mother and the staff of A-Wing of Carington Park who took very good care of her.
