Don was a farmer. For 30 years, Bea wrote a weekly column called the Zulu News for the Monroeville News newspaper. Don and Beatrix had no children. Bea's obituary reads, "MONROEVILLE. BEATRIX "BEA" A. BOWERS, 77, died Monday at Willow Ridge Health Care in Fort Wayne. Born in Payne, Ohio, she was a homemaker and farmer. She wrote a weekly column called the Zulu News for the Monroeville News newspaper for 30 years. Surviving is her husband, Donald V. Prayer services at 12:15 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 E., New Haven, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E., New Haven. Calling from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a Rosary service at 8:30 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery. Monroeville - 1914-2000. Donald V. "Don" Bowers, 86, of Monroeville, a retired area farmer, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Village of Heritage. The Allen County native retired in 1979 and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon, in New Haven. Surviving are 10 nieces and nephews. His wife, Beatrix A., preceded him in death. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon, 15535 Lincoln Hwy. E., New Haven, with calling one hour before services. Calling is also from 4 to 9 p.m. today with an 8:30 p.m. rosary service at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 E., New Haven. Burial will be at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Memorials are to Masses or the church Maintenance Fund."
