Source:Allred, Marilyn. Town of Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts, Genealogical Records 1739-1900, Births, Marriages,, p. 270 (and p. 112 under Garfield), does not identify Mary Garfield or David Streeter. She says, "Widow Mary, m. 19 Dec 1793, (2) (Deacon) John Cass, of Richmond, NH" and assumes David died before this date.

Source:Streeter, Milford B. Genealogical History of the Descendants of Stephen and Ursula Streeter of Gloucester, Mass., 1642, Afterwards of Charlestown, is not very enlightening. Only one Streeter is placed in Warwick (Zebulon), and there is no David who is a sibling, and as his son was born 1777, the son is clearly too young to marry in 1779. In fact, of the three Streeters listed in Allred (David, Jonathan and Josiah), only Jonathan can be clearly identified from information in Streeter, and he has no brother David.

The marriage to Deacon John Cass is found in Warwick records ([1]) "Dec'r. 19: 1793 Then Dea'n John Cass of Richmond and the Widow Mary Stretor of Warwick was lawfully Joined in Marriage p'r me Caleb Rich". Source:Bassett, William. History of the Town of Richmond, Cheshire County, New Hampshire : From Its First Settlement, to 1882, p. 356, shows no such marriage for Deacon John Cass, and says he d. 1802. His first marriage is in 1736, which would make him approximately 78 at the time of the 1793 marriage. This raises the question if widow Mary Streeter could have been David's mother? In 1790 (middle column, 3rd entry) David's household has one male and 3 females living in Warwick.

Two marriages are found for Mary Cass in the period soon after the 1802 death. The marriage of Polly Cass in 1808 to Moses Peck (int. Royalston, marriage Richmond). They moved to Vermont where they had several children from 1809 to 1820, and Polly d. 1849, aged 63 (so born 1786), so this is not the Mary who married David Streeter. The marriage of Mary Cass to Jonathan Pickering in 1805 is described in the History of Richmond, and the wife is identified as the daughter of Joseph Cass, and 6 children are attributed to this marriage (born 1805-1816) before they removed to parts unspecified. So this appears to be a false lead as well.

Naming her daughter Mary might suggest Mary Garfield was a young woman in her first marriage. However, the age of Deacon John Cass would tend to suggest an older woman. Without an identification of David Streeter to estimate an age for Mary, or a death record for Mary with an age at death, etc., there is almost nothing to constrain the search.

Source:Berry, Donald J. Descendants of John Casse (-1675) of Hampton, New Hampshire, p. 117, quotes a record saying "Richmond January 19th 1804 This may certify that John Cas and Molly Streeter both of Richmond are this day joined in marriage by me Nathanial Bolles Clerk". As this source is under copyright and not viewable, the significance attributed to this record is not available. That such a marriage exists is confirmed by the New Hampshire index, here. One would assume this is the daughter marrying a step-brother (or step-nephew given how old Deacon Cass was). As it also fails to do for the father, the History of Richmond does not show any such marriage for any of the descendants named John.
