"David Mitchell … m. by an unknown date Elizabeth _____ (in his will of 11 March 1685/6, he made his wife Elizabeth sole executrix [FOOF 1:416]). (Elizabeth Grave, daughter of George Grave of Hartford married a Mitchell [Manwaring 1:455-56], but her husband was John Mitchell of Hartford (Hale, House 657]. Some secondary sources state that David married "Sarah, daughter of Thomas Wheeler of Milford" [Wethersfield Hist 2:505; NYGBR 120:99]. Thomas Wheeler of Milford did not have a daughter Sarah [FOOF 1:679-80], but his son John did have a daughter Sarah who married Abraham Mitchell son of David [FOOF 1:417, 680-81), which may have been the cause of the confusion.)"
