List of Marriages Solemnized by Rev R. C. hatch During the year Ending April 1st 1837
May 25th 1836 Mr David Goodell to Miss Maveret S. Ballard
[Also, Vol. 1, p. 239: Mr David Goodell Entered his intentions of Marriage with Miss Maveret S Ballard Both of this town } april 17th 1836.]

  2. The will of David Goodell mentions Sarah (Goodell) Smith and Lilla Goodell, not explicitly identifying them as daughters, but a codicil revokes both bequests. Both live with David at points in time, but not continuously, and are neither called daughters nor appear to be (Sarah is born in Massachusetts, and Lilla is born in Nova Scotia). Note that Lilla, b. Nova Scotia, is listed as a "daughter-in-law" (step-daughter) of Gorham in the 1880 census, though she is only 10 years younger than him. Sarah has not been traced.
