Daniel and Abigail (Ives) Sperry apparently lived in what is now Hamden but at that time was still part of the town of New Haven. The births of their children were recorded at New Haven, but since the Cheshire church was closer than the church in North Haven, the children were baptized there. The church in Hamden was not founded until 1758.
