JOHNSON, Daniell, and Martha Tarbox, Mar. 2, 1673-4.
[Note: Source:Essex Genealogist (Massachusetts) (Essex Society of Genealogists), Vol. 11, p. 87, makes the case that this record was misrecorded. The circumstantial evidence is that Daniel Johnson's younger children had as their guardian their "Uncle Hananaiah Parker of Redding". On a documentary level, the article cites the Essex Court Returns of Lynn records as printed NEHGR, p. 5:340, which gives the name of the wife as Martha Parker. Thomas Parker's will only refers to his daughter Martha, so gives no clue about her marriage. Looking up the original online (top record, right page), it could possibly be interpreted both ways, but the fifth letter seems to definitely be a colonial 'e' (compare to 'e' in daughter found in the next record, for example), the last letter looks exactly like the third letter, so if the third letter is an 'r', the last letter should be, too. So it does appear this is "Martha Parker", and was misread when the published VRs were compiled.]
