    He was married in 1858 to Miss Phoebe Keizel, daughter of Enos Keizel, a native of Rockingham County, Va., who came to Washington County in 1856. To this union has been born fourteen children: Fannie L., Rebecca, Calvin K., Edward E. (deceased), Mollie E., Schuyler Colfax, Minnie B., Horace Maynard, Lummie Lynn, Carrie Bays, Frederick Fuller, Bell Carter, Annie Lee and Kate.
