Cletus and Eileen had six children, four sons and two daughters.

Cletus enlisted in the Warrant Officers Branch as a private on June 22, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio. His civil occupation was motorcylist and he was married. He was 67 inches tall and weighed 144 pounds.

Cletus' obituary reads, "CLETUS E. LOMONT, 87, of Monroeville, died Sunday. He was a lifelong resident of Allen County. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1971 after 30 years with Allen County Co-Op. Surviving are his wife, Eileen M.; four sons, Robert D. of New Haven, Jerry P. of Holland, Mich., and Richard E. and Wayne F., both of Fort Wayne; two daughters, Marsha Sherwood and Janice Dodane, both of New Haven; six sisters, Mary Brinker and Ursula Sockrider, both of Fort Wayne, Edna Reuille and Monica Knecht, both of Monroeville, Carolyn Hill of Milton, Wis., and Catherine Ristau of Geneseo, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Prayer service at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday at Marquart & Jacobs Funeral Home, Monroeville, followed by 11 a.m. Mass at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. Calling from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Burial in church cemetery. Memorials to Monroeville EMA or church Masses."
