Lived at 1405 Dayton St., Chicago, when first came over. Then Irving Avenue and then 6337 N. Clark St. by 1938 and then 6348 N. Greenview by 1950s until Teta moved in the middle 60s to Andersonville neighborhood.

Praputnjak was in Modrua-Fiume County, Croatia, until 1918. It's now Gorski Kotar County.

The 1930 (April 4) census showed them living at 6334 N. Irving Ave. near Devon Ave. Irving on the North Side is now Bell (2234 West), according to the city clerk's office. That would put it just east of Western Ave., quite a bit west for the family, if true. He owned his $18,000 two-flat with apparently Teta's nephew, Andrew, boarding with them. Andrew was 19 at the time and a mechanic in a garage. He came over in 1929, according to the census. Also boarding with them was Alex Ceriac (sp), 65, a widowder and laborer at Lincoln Park. Renting the other untit was a John Bokosky, wife, son, daugher, and mother-in-law.

A Marianne Kruzich says her grandfather, Vincent Kariolic, was from Praputnjak and married Antonia Grubesich. A letter to all five Kariolic's in Praputnjak was sent Feb. 10, 2003. Here is the letter in Croatian:

Dragi gospodine i gospodo Kariolic,

Ja govorim engleski, a nešto malo i njemacki uz pomoc prijatelja.

Iskreno,

They lived at 3454 Irving Avenue in the 1920 census. Irving Avenue was just east of Western Avenue.
