The Cathedral presented a very pretty scene on Wednesday evening, when Mr. Clarendon Hugh Masters, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Masters, of "Clarendon," Pembroke, was married by the Rev. Canon Henry Marriott to Miss Lois Marie Hilda, youngest daughter of Mrs. Pitt, and the late Mr. Hilton A. Pitt, of "Undercliffe," Pembroke.
Shortly after 8 o'clock the bride, prettily gowned in white satin and tulle, and carrying a shower bouquet of bridal roses and fern, entered the church accompanied by her cousin, Captain Charles P. Pitt, A.P.M. She was proceeded by Miss May Tucker as maid of honour, who wore a most becoming dress of white net embroidered in yellow. Her bouquet was of golden glow and fern. As the bridal party proceeded up the aisle the strains of "The Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin was played by Mr. A.M. Purcell, the Cathrdral [sic] organist. The bride was given away by her mother, Mrs. Hilton A. Pitt. Mr. Eric Frith acted as best man. The ushers were Messrs. Stewart Pitt, Eugene Hutchings, Gordon Montagu, Orrit Whitney and Stanley Howe. After the ceremony a reception was held at "Undercliffe" where many valuable and useful presents were on view. The health of Mr. and Mrs. Masters was proposed by the Rev. Canon Marriott and the groom replied in a few well chosen words. A toast to the maid of honour was also proposed by Mr. Frith. Later in the evening the newly married couple drove to "Palmetto Grove," Flatts, where they are spending their honeymoon. Mr. and Mrs. Masters intend to take up their residence at "Netherby" Pitts Bay.
